That means, depending on your firm, it could be dynamic, exciting, splashy … or, it could be quiet, refined, and dignified. In any case, it should be easy to follow and attractive to look at. When you present your company to customers/potential customers you may be doing it through a variety of media. Your corporate brochures, flyers, TV/radio, email, digital ads, stationary/business cards, public relations, and of course, your web site. In some cases they may go well beyond the website we’ll be building for you, and also include suggestions on how your corporate image can be extended to include all your promotional materials. Most Digital Marketing firms do not go to these lengths. They simply “build” your website to satisfy their own creative bent.  We don’t think that’s the proper approach, and neither do our clients!

The 5 key elements in web design

We work on what we call the “5 key elements” theory in designing websites for our clients. These are the building blocks in creating web pages that will draw in your potential customers, and keep them on your site! They include:

  • Color … Your website should have a design that flows effortlessly, and encourages customers to stay and browse. Color is critically important in this scheme. The color (along with the layout) sets the theme. We thoroughly understand the subtle use of color and how to make it work to achieve your site’s marketing goals.
  • Theme … Constant, uniform, and easy to follow. Whether your theme is “buy our shoes,” or “we’re the experts in billion-dollar mergers,” the theme must encompass everything from the opening headline, to the last sentence.
  • Type Style … One type style may be perfectly suited for selling sporting goods, but would not translate into selling baby clothes. Selecting the perfect type style and fonts to use on your website (and all your promotional materials) is both art and science. It takes years of experience to be able to pinpoint what will work, and what will not. Our graphic artists have this type of experience. Please check out sites we’ve done for our clients. A picture is worth a thousand words!
  • You can get there from here! … In other words, your website should make it easy for your browsers to navigate your web pages. Really, really easy. Many a customer has been lost because a site’s navigation was the equivalent of that of the Titanic. If you don’t make it easy for your customers to buy – they won’t!
  • Easy contact. … When we design a site, we make sure that the customer has all the contact information clearly and concisely. Your customers don’t want to have to shift through tiny print to find a contact number or email. By displaying easy to see/read contact information (as opposed to an afterthought), you’re giving your customers another reason to trust you. The more trust, the more sales.
